We're in the Great State of Washington! We said 'so long' to our ID family with a yummy campfire dinner of s'mores & hot dogs. Earlier this week, I went back to first grade, & to music class again, learning a new song the music teacher wrote about the characteristics of the Orofino Maniacs. (the town mascot) -Be a Problem Solver, Be Responsible, Be Safe, Be Kind and Have Fun. Good characteristics to live by, and they're evident in the teachings of the elementary school.
We got the windshield fixed and made it safely to Ferndale, WA, via Hwy. 2. John pointed out that now we've taken Hwy. 2 from Sault St. Marie, MI all the way to I-5, north of Mount Vernon, WA.
Since we arrived, we've toured the Washington coast along the Strait of Georgia, which was beautiful, but all of the trees made it hard to see the water. We also went north, to the Canadian border and visited the Peace Arch State and Provencial Park. Beautiful flowers, and it was fun to stand in Canada and the U.S.A at the same time!

We'll leave Ferndale, WA tomorrow and head to Elma, WA, where we'll tour more of the coast and spend some time with the travel agent who set up our tour to Vietnam.
Every night we thank God for the life He's giving us & for so many blessings - of freedom, friends, family, & eachother! Continue to count your blessings & have a great week!
