Where's our sign?

We were excited when our oldest daughter arrived with our 3 great granddaughters for the weekend. The girls really enjoyed riding in the convertible, even though “Grandpa is a crazy driver”.
After driving several hours, our daughter prepared supper for the entire family.
John’s favorite – her spaghetti!!
While they were here John received his Father’s day gift – a cool clock from Wal-Mart!

That night we went to see our 6 year old granddaughter in the play “The Tortoise verses the Hare”. It was similar to the former “The Tortoise and the Hare”. Our granddaughter was part of Curly (the hare’s) fan club, and she and her friends would hop out, sing, and hop back. We asked if she wanted to do that again, and she said “no, because it was embarrassing with everyone looking at me”. It was put on by the Missoula Children’s Theater, traveling actor and director ambassadors who “open hearts and minds of children to the possibility of achievement through creativity and teamwork” (mctinc.org).
Saturday evening was the birthday party for our 13 year old grandson!
Star Wars cake!
Along with cake we had yummy nachos, and since he was busy having fun with his friends, we snuck away with the great grands to DQ!!

Sunday morning at church was more of an informational sermon than a preaching sermon. I was glad that John and two of our daughters were there, as the topics discussed were exactly what I am studying in school this week, and it was like we were all in class together. Biblical inerrancy, the translation and interpretation of the Bible is what school’s focus is on. Two people can hear the same sermon and walk away with different thoughts. The great example that the preacher provided was “The dog walked away with my cheese.” One person may be envisioning a Chihuahua taking string cheese, while another pictures a Great Dane carrying away Muenster. All the while, the speaker has yet another vision in his mind’s eye. While this can cause problems in communication, the Holy Spirit helps to bring interpretation to all, and since the Holy Spirit is God’s spirit, He knows exactly what we need, and that is what He provides. This is not to say that the Holy Spirit will provide each of us the same vision, but what we do receive will be the strength to work together in Christ’s love to bring glory to Him. Also, in defining ourselves as Christians, as well as when interpreting the Bible, it is easy to get sidetracked into how we are worshiping instead of Who.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday I worked on school.
On a nature walk, our daughter whose driveway we’re camping in picked me (her “mother”) these pretty daisies. I nearly cried. She is very thoughtful and we have great fun being “mother” and “daughter”.
Yesterday John and I were going to go to Duluth for a Wal-Mart outing. We were up and ready to go when we decided to stay in since it was such a dreary day.
That afternoon our door would not open... we figured our latch had finally gone bad, but were perplexed as to how to get the door open so we could get out. We took the inside handle off to see what we could see (which was nothing). We ended up calling for help, and Tony from the local Amoco garage soon showed up. He looked at it and admitted it was beyond him, that we'd have to call a locksmith. Before he left, he asked for the key, "just to say I tried it" he said. We didn't even know which key it was because we don't lock that lock. He found the key, inserted it, unlocked it, and opened the door!
Where's our sign?
So far today is clear and sunny, so we are headed out. Hopefully this afternoon it will be warm enough to drive home topless!!
